Add a custom API action to your AI support agent

Find out how you can add custom API actions to your AI support agent to allow your agent to retrieve information or perform actions using any API endpoint.

To allow your AI support agent to retrieve information or perform actions using any API endpoint, you can add the Custom API Action action.

After selecting the action to add, you will need to update the Name and Description, and set the API Request details. You can also set Parameters and Headers for the API request if required.

Make sure the Name and Description of the action is descriptive so that the agent will know when exactly to use this action.

For the API Url and Parameters you can use template strings, for example "{{user_id}}" to have the agent fill in the value based on information retrieved from the user. You can also use the Identify API method to provide this information.

Once you've completed the required details for the API request, click on the Add Action button to add and enable the action for your AI support agent.

Your agent will now be able to use this API action.
